Registration Assistant
The CDN Registration Assistant is a guided chat widget that helps you register competitors for events step by step. It appears as a floating green button on your dashboard and competitor pages.
How to Open It
Look for the green chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of the screen. If it's your first time, you'll see a message: "Need help registering? I can guide you step by step".
Click the button to open the assistant.
Registration Flow
The assistant walks you through each step in order:
1. Select Competitor
Choose which competitor you'd like to register. All competitors linked to your account are shown as clickable options.
If you don't have any competitors yet, the assistant will offer to take you to the Add Competitor page.
2. Select Country
If events are available in multiple countries, you'll be asked to choose one. If all events are in the same country, this step is skipped automatically.
3. Select Competition Company
Type the name of the competition company (organiser) you want to register with. The assistant uses smart search — even if you misspell the name, it will find the closest match.
For example, typing "carn" will find "Carnil Events".
4. Select Event
The assistant shows available events for your chosen organiser, including the event name, location, state, and dates. Click the event you'd like to register for.
Only events with entries matching your competitor type (individual or group) are shown.
5. Select Age Group
Available age groups are shown based on your competitor's age and the event's age rules. Your competition age is calculated automatically using the organiser's age rule (e.g. "Age as at 1 January").
Only age groups your competitor is eligible for are displayed.
6. Select Style
Type the style you're looking for (e.g. Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet). The assistant searches available styles and shows all matches. For example, typing "hip" might show:
- Hip Hop - Elite
- Hip Hop - First Year on stage
- Hip Hop - Improvisations
- Hip Hop - Protege
- Jazz/Hip Hop
Click the one you want.
7. Select Entry Type
If there are multiple entry types (e.g. Solos, Duos/Trios), choose one. If only one type is available, this step is skipped automatically.
8. Confirm Entry
The assistant shows the full entry (e.g. 10 Years & Under -- Hip Hop - Elite -- Solos). Click to confirm.
9. Partner Selection (Duos/Trios/Groups)
If the entry requires 2 or more competitors, the assistant will ask you to select partners:
- From your account: Your other competitors are shown as clickable options
- From another account: Type the partner's Competitor ID in the text box
Important
If your partner's competitor is managed by another account, contact them to get their Competitor ID. Do not create a duplicate competitor — each competitor is charged a Compulsory Pass fee per event.
10. Special Titles
If the entry has special titles available (e.g. "Most Outstanding Costume", "Broadway Bound"), you can choose to add one or click "No titles" to skip.
The assistant may also show tips about title qualification requirements. For example: "To qualify for Broadway Bound, you also need: Musical Theatre Vocal, Musical Theatre Improvisations".
11. Organiser Rules
The assistant checks the organiser's rules before adding an entry to your cart:
- Blocking rules: If an entry has prerequisites (e.g. Championships requiring 3 qualifying entries first), the assistant will explain what's needed and offer alternatives.
- Qualification tips: For non-blocking rules, the assistant shows helpful tips about what other entries you might need to qualify for special titles.
12. Add to Cart
Once confirmed, the entry is added to your cart. You'll see three options:
- Add another entry (same competitor) — returns to age group selection for the same event
- Change competitor — keeps the same event but lets you pick a different competitor
- Go to checkout — takes you to the checkout page
Features
Smart Search
The assistant uses fuzzy matching for organiser names and styles. You don't need to type the exact name — partial matches and even misspellings will work.
Start Over
Click the restart icon (circular arrow) in the top-right of the chat header to clear the conversation and start fresh.
Manual Registration
If you prefer the standard registration form, click "Register manually" at the top of the chat panel. This takes you to the full registration page.
