Registering for an Event
Once you have a competitor profile, you can register them for upcoming events and select which entries they'll compete in.
How Entries Work
Events on CDN are organised using three levels:
| Level | What It Means | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Group | Age category | 10 Years, 14 Years, Open Age |
| Style | Dance genre | Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop |
| Type | Performance format | Solo, Duo/Trio, Small Troupes, Improv |
When you register, you select the Group — Style / Type combinations your competitor will enter (e.g. 10 Years — Jazz / Solo).
Quick Registration
You can also use the Registration Assistant — a guided chat widget that walks you through the entire registration process step by step. Look for the green chat bubble in the bottom-right corner.
How to Register
- Click Register for Event in the sidebar
- Browse the available events
- Select the event
- Choose your competitor
- Select the entries you want to compete in
- Review your selections and confirm
- Complete payment if required
Payment
Some events require payment at the time of registration. You can pay via:
- Credit or debit card (powered by Stripe)
- PayPal
If the organiser offers payment plans, you can spread the cost — see Payment Plans.
Full Capacity Events
Some events have a maximum number of registrations. When an event reaches full capacity:
- The event will show a "Full Capacity" ribbon on its card in the event catalogue
- The status changes from OPEN to CLOSED automatically
- The Register button is removed
- You will not be able to add entries to your cart (including via the Registration Assistant)
If a spot opens up (e.g. another competitor withdraws), the event will automatically re-open for registration — no action is needed from the organiser.
Modifying or Withdrawing
Depending on the organiser's settings, you may be able to update your entries or withdraw before the event's deadline. Check the event details for cutoff dates.
Next Step
After registering, upload your music before the deadline.
